A community whose identity grew from one landmark and a long local memory.

White House takes its name from the historic White House Inn, the landmark that gave the community its identity and still shapes its memory today through the museum that preserves that story. The area's history also reaches back to the late eighteenth century, when nearby Hamilton's Fort marked one of the earliest known settlements in the community.
